3. Polyurethane waterproof coating construction process

4. Grassroots requirements and handling

4.1. The waterproof base should be plastered with 1:3 cement mortar to a flooding slope of 1/50 according to the design requirements. The surface should be smoothed and calendered, and defects such as unevenness, looseness, sanding, and dusting are not allowed. The drain or floor drain should be lower than the entire waterproof layer so as to remove stagnant water. The part of the pipeline with casing should be more than 20MM above the surface of the base. The yin and yang corners should be made into small rounded corners with a radius of 10MM to facilitate coating construction.

  4.2. All pipe fittings, sanitary equipment, floor drains, or drains must be firmly installed, with tight joints and smooth ends without any looseness.

4.3. During construction, during the construction of traditional polyurethane waterproof coatings, the waterproof base should be basically in a dry state, and the moisture content should be less than 9%. The simple measurement method is to cover the rubber plate with an area of 1㎡ and a thickness of 1.5-2.0MM on the base layer and place it for 2-3 hours. If there is no watermark on the surface of the covered base layer, and the rubber sheet close to the base layer has no condensation watermark, according to experience, its moisture content is less than 9%, which meets the construction requirements. The polyurethane waterproof coating produced by Chengmei Coatings does not have this requirement, and it can be applied as long as the base has no clear water.

4.4. Before construction, use a shovel and a broom to remove foreign objects such as protrusions and mortar bumps on the surface of the base, and thoroughly clean up the dust and debris. The yin and yang corners, pipe roots, floor drains and drainage ditch openings should be cleaned more carefully. If oil stains, rust, etc. are found, they should be thoroughly removed with wire brushes, sandpaper, and organic solvents.
